Yes, friends, it’s that time of the year again. The time of the year where for 30 days, many of us all over the world write like fiends to try to complete a rough draft of a novel or novella. We overdose on caffeine, chocolate, energy drinks and other sugary treats to keep writing long into the night…every night.
Granted, the rough drafts are gonna be rougher than sandpaper, but we get’er done (as we say in the South).
That said, I participated in 2012 and won and in 2013 and failed. This year, however, I’m ready for it. The story of which I’ve shared the background with you (antagonist, protagonist, aliens)–which is as yet untitled–will be my project. I have over 15,000 words and need another 75,000+ to complete it as a novel. This is a story which I plan to submit for Traditional Publishing. Failing that I will self-publish again through CreateSpace/Kindle. As such, I will be looking for an agent, so any suggestions would be welcome.
To say that I’m excited is an understatement.
Here’s where you come in. If you would, as this is a serious writing feat, feel free to hit me up on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or leave a comment here to offer encouragement. Also, if you are participating, please look me up and add me as a writing buddy. You’ll find me under yiwashington.
Lastly, I will continue to post every Tuesday from now until December 16th, when I will take my winter break. So don’t worry, I won’t leave you.
Join me next week as I encourage and offer NaNo related tips.
