BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK

I’m BAAAAAACK. I know, it’s been almost a month since my last post and for that I apologize. I needed to take a step back and get a better perspective on what I needed to accomplish. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in keeping up with the Jones’ instead of staying on your own path. I had a game plan last year and let myself get away from it.

With that said, I have started concentrating on short stories. I need to build up a platform, get my name out there, and short stories will be the best way to do that. I’m working on four different ones at the moment. I know, insane, right? But it’s been fun. Especially since I’ve taken the time to find out what sub genre of Sci-Fi I really want to concentrate on.

I’ve chosen social sci-fi as it is the sub genre that I most enjoy. I figured that out when I read A Brave New World in less than two days. Of course, I’m still going to finish the Andromeda Syndicate Series. However, there will be a few changes. I was trying to write the quintessential space opera and was getting seriously stuck. Now that I know what the story is really trying to say, I can write it without feeling like I’m not “getting” it.

So, over the next few months, I’ll share bits and pieces of my short stories as well as my progress with getting published in a few magazines. But don’t worry, I’ll still work on the series and share the character development with you. I have a few people who would never forgive me if I didn’t share more about Setch with them.

I’m also going to be submitting my poetry to a few (or more) poetry publications over the next six months. As a matter of fact, I just submitted one to World Poetry Movement. They are hosting a contest, so send up a prayer or keep a positive thought for me.

Well, as Setch would say, May the rains fall to nourish you and cleanse your roots (his way of a blessing, he is a plant lifeform after all.)

Until next time…
